J. Patrick Homes wins Star Award for “Best Product Design”
With features including a curved staircase and an outdoor living area with a fireplace and kitchen, J. Patrick Homes’ five-bedroom Kensington plan in Aliana has won a Star Award for “Best Product Design” from the Texas Association of Builders.
Showcased as a decorated model home in the Fort Bend County community of Aliana, the 5,224-square-foot Kensington won in the $750,000 to $1 million price range category in the Star Awards.
The awards were presented on July 31 at the Sunbelt Builders Show, held at the Gaylord Texas Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. The competition included entries from throughout Texas, judged by an independent panel of distinguished industry experts.
“The Star Awards include more than 75 categories, and while it’s always nice to win for an ad or promotion, we’re most excited to win for product design, since outstanding design has been at the heart of J. Patrick Homes’ success since we built our first home in 1990,” said Tim Drone, executive vice president of the Houston-based company.
Introduced in 2015, the Kensington has been one of J. Patrick Homes’ top-selling plans, offered in Aliana and additional communities including Long Meadow Farms, Sienna Plantation and Woodtrace.
Drone said that the Kensington touches many hot buttons for move-up homebuyers in the Houston area, with features including a downstairs guest bedroom suite, in addition to the main floor master suite. The open formal dining room at the center of the Kensington is a design departure from typical custom of tucking the dining room into a corner. Other highlights include a three-car garage with a portico, and a huge gameroom and media room “entertainment zone” upstairs.
