Fort Bend County #6 in Job Growth
August '09
According to a CNN Money article by Jessica Dickler and Steve Hargreaves published on August 18, 2009, Fort Bend County has been named #6 of the top 25 counties for job growth in the United States and #2 in Texas. This can be attributed to a 61.3% job growth from 2000-2008. “The city's economic development corporation has been actively upgrading the area's infrastructure to attract more employers. The plan seems to be working; a new industrial distribution center houses a range of businesses from tech to oilfield services.”
